Can you top the best?
Switchfoot gained a huge recognition for their last album which sold over two
million copies. "Meant to Live" exploded onto Christian and pop charts
with it’s incredible depiction of how we live life. "Dare You to
Move" was heard on the soundtrack to a major movie. And if two smash
singles wasn’t enough, Switchfoot added "This is Your Life" to the
stack.
But it’s been two years since that album came out, and Switchfoot has been
faced with what many artists face - topping their career album. Can they do it?
Well, it certainly look as if they are poised to do so.
This album tackles some issues that are close to the hearts of their fans, one
key reason their last album was so wildly popular. The theme of this album seems
to be hope in a hopeless world. With their recent mainstream success, Switchfoot
should be applauded for continuing to spread a message like this one. One of the
best songs on the album is a song that lead singer Jon Foreman calls the song
"where Meant to Live left off." "Lonely Nation" is a
question of how we can be so connected, and yet still so far apart. How money
can buy so much, and yet so little.
This CD is incredibly written and passionately sung. Full of driving,
radio-ready pop/rock cuts, this album is a memorable journey through the hearts
of this incredible band.
