For decades both children and adults have enjoyed the magical land of Narnia through the pages of C.S. Lewis' books. The books have been made into several different videos and audio CDs, but coming this winter, it is coming to the big screen. In preparation for the theatrical release, a soundtrack inspired by the movie has been released. It seems like a soundtrack precedes every movie release, but in this case, it is well worth a second glance. It is a fabulous collection of Christian artists and their musical interpretation of the movie.
This CD features all original songs from artists like Steven Curtis Chapman, Nichole Nordeman, Bethany Dillon, Rebecca St. James, Chris Tomlin and many more. It doesn't get much better with an artist listing like that. One particular highlight is Bethany Dillon's Aslan-inspired song, "Hero." Another great song is the beautiful "Remembering You" by Steven Curtis Chapman (with a very beautiful Irish-sounding introduction). "I Will Believe" by Nichole Nordeman is also a huge highlight, with her trademark lyrics and her beautiful voice.
Even though the movie release is still a couple of months away, this soundtrack is a great way to whet your appetite. If nothing else, it is a fabulous collection of some of your favorite artists.
