Musical styles come and go. What is flying up the radio charts one week is
old news the next. FFH is one band who has managed to remain relevant and
exciting since their debut. Without straying from their musical roots, they
always offer a fresh project full of fantastic radio-ready, listener-friendly
songs. "Ready to Fly" is no exception.
The entire album is filled with great lyrics, passionate vocals and feel-good
music. A highlight for me is the song "It’s a Good Day." Simple, yet
direct and true lyrics say: "Hey, it’s a good day, even if things aren’t
going my way, Jesus is Lord and I am safe so say hey it’s a good day."
The only musical departure from the album of piano-driven pop is the sweet song,
"Waltz For Jennifer" in which husband Jeromy sings of his love for his
wife (who is currently pregnant with their first child - a son).
Inside of the pre-release of FFH’s new CD there is a short bio for the
group. The first line says "Since the band’s beginning, the mission
statement of FFH has been "to reach as many people for Jesus Christ as they
can, as quickly as they can." FFH has certainly accomplished a huge amount.
In just a few short years, they have seen over 5000 decisions made at their
concerts. And they aren’t done yet. They are continuing to spread their
musical wings and are definitely ready to continue their flight.
