With their last album, Avalon was seen taking a much more mature, direct, slower attempt at their music. Most of "The Creed" was very "this is our mission" oriented. With Stand, however, Avalon is revisiting their roots and doing the music they are loved for.

Tracks like "The Other Side," and "Somehow You Are" bring to mind their greatest hits like "Take You At Your Word" and "In Not Of." The driving pop that is Avalon’s trademark is evident in several songs on this CD. There are also the ballads that Avalon is so good at delivering - Janna’s voice on "Orphans of God," and the group taking on the classic song with Russ Taff, "We Will Stand."

Avalon has proven once again why they are such a popular name in Christian music. This album, which is definitely one of their best, is a fantastic blend of encouraging lyrics, contagious music, and the message of Christ - the only reason Avalon takes a Stand.
