Interview with Kara

1. Tell me how you got started in music?
I wish I had some exciting story about how all my wildest dreams came true once I broke into the music industry, but as it goes, I was simply the last of 5 born into a musical family. I traveled and sang with them (The Dave Williamson Family Singers... hee hee) all growing up. One thing led to another and here I am.

2. What about Three Strand? I remember the song "Jesus I Will" being played on the radio.
Three Strand consisted of my older brother and sister, (Scott & Aimee Joy), and I. We signed with 40 records in 1999 to record a modern worship album. That was soooo much fun! We all totally miss traveling and singing with each other.

3. What do you hope to accomplish with your new album?
The only thing I honestly hope and pray this album accomplishes is bringing total glory to Jesus! I'll leave the details to Him. :o)~

4. How did you meet your husband? Tell me about him.
Charley and I met in 1998 on the Amy Grant Christmas Tour. I was singing background vocals for her, and he was road managing "The Katinas", who were also on the tour. There are no words to describe the miracle that God has done in me through Charley, but in a nutshell, he is God's picture of redemption to me. He is a pillar of quiet strength and has such a genuine servant's heart! When we met, I was in the worst place I have ever been in, and he still fell in love with me. He saw me with NO makeup on (a first for me.. ha!) and having panic attacks like every night. God reveals to me on a daily basis, through Charley, that I can come as I am and His love will never change!

5. What has God been teaching you lately?
Mostly about His grace and forgiveness. Even though I was raised in a Christian home, I'm experiencing the truth of this for the first time. I'm realizing that I always thought I was a pretty good person, and so I didn't really need grace, but oh have I been wrong! I am desperate for it now! It's so much easier to extend that to everyone else, once you realize your own need for it.

6. Who are your heroes?
Anyone who overcomes fear! That's a biggie for me. Also, my husband. His life story is incredible! I'm so moved by his ability to habitually break chains that the enemy has been trying to bind him with since he was a baby.

7. If you weren't singing what would you be doing?
I'd open up a fashion boutique/coffee shop, and I would work full time with my church youth group.
