Reason to Live
What is the meaning of life? Why are we
here? This is a question that everyone asks themselves at one time or another.
Without Christ, it is impossible to truly answer this question because we were
all created with a very defined and important purpose given to us by God alone.
This is our best effort to answer this question in a clear, concise and simple
way. We can all have a reason to live if we give all of our wants, needs and
desires to Christ and let Him reveal that singular purpose for which we were
born. He is truly our reason to live. – Alisa
Dead Serious
Over the past five years, we have met so many kids who are undeniably sold
out for God. They're leading bible studies and prayer meetings after school and
influencing others everywhere they go. Their roots are strong and they aren't
afraid to tell anyone about Who and what they believe in. However, it's not
always easy being the only Christian at school or work. People can be brutal
when they don't relate or understand something and sadly, these Christian kids
often find themselves being laughed at or getting made fun of for their beliefs.
Dead Serious is a fun song that communicates a strong message of encouragement
for the kids who sometimes feel left out for standing up for Christ and making
the right choices in life. – Chrissy
About You
As a group, we've always made a point to talk about very specific issues
that people go through in life. The message of this song is so important because
you can apply this truth to anything in life. When you think about low
self-esteem, dating issues, temptations and peer pressure, all of those issues
come in to better perspective when we take our eyes off of ourselves, and make
everything about Jesus. "When I finally turned away from my reflection, I
saw your world outside my door and everything that I've been looking
for..." In our own wisdom and strength, we will only find heartache and
failure. In our own lives, we have found that when we are focused on ourselves
and what we think will make us happy, we always are left wanting. When we make
everything about the purposes and business of the kingdom of God, we feel a lot
better about ourselves and are able to love others beyond what we are capable of
on our own. - Alisa
Scream
"Do I have to scream for you to hear me? Do I have to bleed for you to
see me? Cause I grieve and you're not listening to me..."
Over the last few years we have been so blessed to be a part of the lives of
many young people who have opened up and shared their doubts, struggles and pain
with us. Letter after letter has revealed an unspeakable amount of emotional
distress brought upon by abuse, neglect, rejection and heartache. This pain can
overwhelm and overtake a young person and lead them into all kinds of different
self-destructive behaviors. We've ministered to countless girls that are dealing
with eating disorders, secret drug and alcohol abuse, depression, and most
alarming, self-mutilation or "cutting" as it's referred to among young
people. This is a rampant and extremely popular device used to self-medicate the
enormous pain, guilt and shame that so many young people face. We've personally
met many girls who love God with all their hearts, and on the outside, they look
like they are happy, well-adjusted individuals. On the inside, their pain has
overtaken them, and has manifested in self-destruction. It's our belief that the
only way to bring healing in this area is to help a person understand that Jesus
bled so they don't have to.... He called out to God in agony so that they don't
have to...He asked: "My God.... why have You forsaken me?" so that
that's a question that none of us will ever have to ask. "One drop of blood
from the whole in Your hand is enough to heal me and make me stand...and I'm
clean...He is listening..." - Alisa
Forevermore
‘Forevermore’ is inspired by Psalms, and is an expression of the
immeasurable worthiness and holiness of God. We kept coming back to the concept
that God's holiness is forevermore. He is the one thing in this ever-changing
world that will never change. The first verse says "Oh God in your
perfection your love confounds the wise. Sinners are made heroes and the humble
lifted high. Sinners, saints and angels sing songs that reach the sky." We
join with all creation lifting our eyes, hearts, and hands declaring God's
greatness and surrendering to His majesty, majesty that astounds and amazes us.
"Forevermore You are holy, forevermore You are worthy." – Kristin
The Way You Love Me
Rom. 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor
demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor
depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the
love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. With everyday that goes by,
I become more and more amazed at the love of God. It's easy for this thought to
sound cliché, but when you really stop and think about it, it's an impossible
concept to ever fully grasp. As I learn more about God and all that He is, I
become overwhelmed with humility. I realize how undeserving I am to receive His
grace, forgiveness, salvation, compassion, favor, blessing, protection…love. I
am forever indebted to Him for these gifts. With all that I do wrong in a day,
how He can still love me the way He does (perfectly) is beyond my comprehension,
but I am so grateful. – Chrissy
Let it Out
Let it out/ tell the world what you're about/ Let 'em hear your screams your
shouts/ Out loud/ Don't hold back don't let down/ It's all or nothing now
God’s boldness is amazing. We wanted to reflect the empowerment that he gives
us, in this song. Jesus took such a powerful stand for us on the Cross, and He
didn't back down. As Christians we have so much to be thankful for and hopeful
about. We wanted this song to be full of the enthusiasm and excitement that
comes with standing up and following God with full force and without
reservation. – Kristin
Good Girl
"Hang on good girl...be strong good girl...when they try to bring you
down, you'll be glad you stood your ground, so just hang on..."
Last spring, the three of us were feeling completely exhausted and weary. We
were traveling a lot, had been away from our families and were working very
hard. We were sitting in our dressing room during the "FREE Experience
Tour", and we just felt like giving up. As we talked about the upcoming
album, we had a hard time finding the inspiration to think about writing another
album so soon after "Different Kind of Free". We felt like we had
poured our hearts out on the album, and didn't have much left to give. That's
when God intervened and filled us with a sense of direction, purpose and
commissioning. We started thinking about all the girls we have met over the
years. We call them "ZOEgirl’s". These girls are so special! They
are each different and have their own unique personalities and qualities. We
became determined to write a song as a tribute to them. "ZOEgirl’s"
come in all shapes, sizes colors and ages, and they rock. "ZOEgirl’s"
are sold out for Christ and love Him with all their hearts. It was very
important to us that when we defined what a ‘good girl’ was, that we gave
what we believe was an honest and true definition. The truth is that there is no
perfect person in the world. All of us have a long list of weaknesses, mistakes
and struggles. What separates a "good girl" from everyone else is that
she has given her life to God and seeks after Him with all her heart despite her
failures. We hope to encourage young women to come together and love each other
and not get caught up in the superficial aspects of teenage life. "You're
not about miniskirts and silly reasons just to flirt cause you've got heaven on
your side and it's how you live your life..." - Alisa
Not the One
This is a song of empowerment, challenging girls to break off relationships
with guys that are not right for them. More than ever, today's culture is
encouraging girls to jump into relationships just for the sake of having someone
there. Ultimately, this mentality leaves girls heartbroken and unfulfilled. Not
The One speaks against that thinking. The girl in the song realizes that the guy
she is dating is not right for her. With God being first in her life, she knows
that she can trust Him to bring the right guy at the right time. Holding to that
truth, she makes the decision to break off the relationship and wait on God. I
pray that this song will inspire girls to raise the standards they hold for
themselves and most importantly, bring them into a closer relationship with God.

Skin Deep
Beyond skin deep there's so much more to see/ My hopes my dreams designed
with destiny/ I was fashioned with passion/ A burning desire to know the one who
made me more/ He made me more than skin deep / We are more than the future we
are more than the past/ We were made to bring glory given souls that will last/
We are more than our bodies/ We are more than the grave/ We were bought by His
blood/And from ourselves we've been saved
How do we, as young women, rise above the pressures of a culture that dictates
and defines beauty and worth merely by physical standards? Why do we allow our
worth, which is so great to God, to be judged instead by popular Hollywood
standards? Why do we believe the magazines that tell us we’re only as good as
our latest Louis Vitton bag, revealing outfit, botox injection or size five pair
of jeans? So many of us feel trapped in personal captivity, causing us to become
self-critical, unsatisfied and self-destructive.
God had so much more in mind when He fashioned our most unique inner workings.
He has named us and identified us for His glory (Isaiah 43: 6-7). He has given
us a purpose and a destiny. He covered us in skin, but not to encase our souls
and crush our spirits. And Jesus, more than anyone, felt that incredibly great
burden of flesh when He took on human form. But when He died and overcame death
He freed us from the destructive and sinful trap of "self". We are His
precious. His redeemed. We are His, regardless of packaging. I'm begging to more
clearly understand that the exterior shell that often suffocates us is a shell
that cannot forever entrap us. God made us more than skin deep. He made us for
His glory and in His image. That runs deeper than skin. It is eternal. - Kristin
Safe
Sometimes it's hard to feel safe in our surroundings. We feel unprotected
from life's disappointments and the people who hurt us. But God's promises are
true, and God will give us hope when the world falls apart around us. His love
is our shelter and our comfort when we are faced with danger. Unfailing when we
are surrounded by uncertainty. It is sometimes all that holds us when we are
most vulnerable. Amidst life’s treacheries, God’s love gives us peace that
passes understanding. In His arms we are safe. – Kristin
